Day 8 - Baltic Jewels & the Midnight Sun: At Sea

 Saturday, July 2, 2022 ~ At Sea

Another day at sea!  After staying up past midnight to see the Midnight Sun, and with an hour time change that did not register on our phones - I actually had to manually change them, we woke too late to have breakfast in either the restaurant or the World Cafe.  Thank goodness for Mamsen's where Jeff could get a waffle that he declared "not as good as we get in Middlebury" and some fruit, and I got my very excellent morning coffee.

The rest of the day we wandered about the ship - photographing this and that and just enjoying the ambiance of being "at sea."

Some scenes about ship today

The Atrium is an open space between decks 1 and 2 with comfortable seating along both sides where you can go and read, work on a puzzle with other ship mates, play games - even electronic table games, etc., all while listening to classical music played by the ship's pianist, Sofia, and/or the ship's cellist, Keniisa.

This is where they sell the sparkles -- we haven't gone in there at all.

This is the pool deck, where you can swim, go in the hot tub, get a burger or a hot dog at the Pool Grill, or, like this lady - paint!

There's an infinity pool up on the Aquavit Terrace and a couple of brave souls went in for a dip!

This is the Aquavit Terrace where you can have lunch, a glass of wine, or just enjoy the sights.  It has been too chilly (and rainy) to spend much time out there, but we hope when we get down to the Baltic, it will be warmer.  It was always our favorite spot on the River Cruises.

We seem to gravitate to this Explorer's Lounge on Deck 8 - it's just a peaceful and generally quiet space.

We once again enjoyed dinner in The Restaurant.  I started with a delicious fish soup, followed by pork tenderloin, and a few bites of a dessert called "The Wrong Black Forest" - basically a deconstructed black forest cake.  Jeff enjoyed the Meli Melo Salad, followed by Ravioli di Ricotta al Limone e Mandorle Tostate (ravioli in a lemon butter sauce, with strawberry sorbet for dessert.  As usual, everything was fantastic.

After dinner, we headed up to TorsHavn for a nightcap while we enjoyed music by our favorite musician on the ship - Paolo.

A calm and tranquil day that ended with this glimpse of the Midnight Sun before heading to dreamland
